In 2016, the UK Bridges Board and the Irish National Roads Authority introduced the National Highways Sector Scheme 31 (NHSS31) ‘Bridge Inspector Certification Scheme’. Lantra are the management and assessing body for NHSS31. Most bridge owners in the UK now require bridge inspectors to be BICS certified and stop short from making it a mandatory requirement.
This certification is required to operate as a qualified Bridge Inspector and involves the submission of an e-portfolio and satisfactorily passing an interview. The assessment is developed around a suite of 6 core modules which encompass inspection process, structural types, structural mechanics, causes of failure and repair methods.
Infrasilience developed a programme of courses targeted to the provision of training in areas that trainees need to assist them getting qualified.
We offer face to face, online, mock reviews and 1to1 training tailored to candidates' abilities and goals.
*Prices depend on the type of training, number of trainees and any special requirements. Being a specialised business with low overheads, we promise to provide competitive pricing and quality service compared to similar providers in the UK. Feel free to contact us to get a quote.
